This year for our Steering Christmas party we had a potluck. Sue's husband cooked an AMAZING turkey, and the rest of us contributed with all the sides and dessert. The food was great, and the company better. It was so fun to spend time with good friends, and celebrate the birth of Jesus together. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Craft Night!
What a fun time these girls had talking and making a Martha Stewart Christmas tree craft. I hear the cleanup was a little bit difficult-how do you get spray glue and glitter off of your hands? But the end result was a sparkly new decoration! Thanks for participating, girls. Hope you had fun!

Jana!
I hope you all enjoyed Jana Alayra today. What a talented mom! Even with all the crying of her moving story and music, I hope your day was ended with unending smiles from your cute, dancing kiddos! We will miss you guys this break, but hope to see all of YOUR beautiful faces back in January. Check back for updated photos and info before we start back up on the LAST TUESDAY in January. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Project
Don't forget...
To give back this year, our MOPS group will be helping 2 different efforts to help those in need. First, you can bring in your old magazines and we will have them sent off to our troops in Iraq. They can definitely use something new to read to get their minds off of what is going on around them on a daily basis.
Also, there is still the opportunity to fill up a shopping bag with groceries for a family who is running short. The economy right now, as we all know, is a little scary. How great to be able to help feed a family, even if only for a few days. Please contact Christina Shaw for further information on what to buy for the bags. Her contact info is in the directory that you received at today's meeting.
All donations can be brought on November 18th (preferred) or the December 9th meeting.
Both projects are completely voluntary.

Speaking of Martha...
Come on out for a girls night on December 3rd. We will be getting together to do a REALLY CUTE Martha Stewart Christmas craft. Mark your calendars for this one- it's gonna be laid back, no stress and there will be CHOCOLATE!
Look out Martha!
You are not going to want to miss the next MOPS meeting on November 18th. (Remember it's the 3RD Tuesday)! Mostly because your husband is going to be SO impressed with you! Just think, you'll be able to serve him a piece of homemade apple pie for dessert that night. He'll enjoy it so much while he is sitting there wondering how his wife does it all...keeping up with the kids, the house and she's so darn cute! Then, he'll remember that you had MOPS that day. GOSH! This MOPS thing must really be good for her, I think I like it! And everyone's happy. The kids will ask if they can go to bed early, but only if they can help you clean up their toys first, and you can sit and enjoy your husband's company while he enjoys his homemade pie. Sound like a dream world? Or maybe just an episode of Leave it to Beaver. But I hope you all come to enjoy some talk time with your friends and draw out your inner Martha Stewart. Remember that there are a few things you'll need to bring.
6-8 Granny Smith apples, depending on the size you want your pie to be
Apple corers, cutters, peelers, knives anything you may want to help with the peeling/cutting process. Check with your table leader to see what will be provided and what you need to bring.
A shallow container to take the pie home in. (ie. a box lid or shallow dish) so it doesn't slide around in your car. (We had a few casualties last time).
See you all on the November 18th!

Welcome!
Welcome to Sunridge MOPS! My name is Amanda Carrillo and I am the Coordinator for our group. I work with many other women to create meetings for moms in the stage of life of raising pre-schoolers. We hope that you find good friends, good food and a good break from life during our meetings on Tuesday mornings. This is my first entry on our brand new, official Sunridge MOPS blog. We hope that this will be a good way for you to stay updated on all that is going on with our group. I hope you find this a useful tool to stay informed and also a fun place to come and see what other tables are up to!
